The company called two independent specialists: Joaquín Morales Solá, well known Argentine political scientist and José Luis Espert, an experienced economist. Each one had 45 minutes to explain the current situation of Argentina and the rest of the world. “There will come difficult times, however, Argentina is prepared to overcome the crisis quickly”, pointed Morales Solá. He also expained his political scenario: “Presidencial elections will surely be anticipated.”
Espert anticipated that it will be very difficult for Argentina to pay the debts without suffering big consequences. “I think that the situation is a little complicated, and there will surely be a recession until the beginning of 2010 in Argentina” and added: “Due to the bad governments in the Province of Buenos Aires, from Carlos Ruckauf up to the current governor Daniel Scioli, the province is in trouble to pay its debts, something that will have influence in the games of chance sector.”
This meeting is part of the strategy that R. Franco has to be together with the gaming sector in times of crisis. René Pravato, general manager of R. Franco Argentina, in the inauguration of this meeting, commented on the market needs: “The market union is very important nowadays, where the economic situation is not the best; the Argentine market is intended to grow. We have to help each other in order to get through this economic situation.”
The meeting took place in Hotel Emperador, which counted with a hundred of the main businessmen of the sector. This was the first of several events that R, Franco will organize.
The idea of the company is to organize a space to think and understand the current situation, and to be able to plan the future of the sector and get support to take best decisions.
