During the VAT process, Casinos Austria compared the MEI Cashflow SC to the note validators fitted in their slots. The day-to-day experience with the product has allowed the Casinos Austria management to assess its quality. This experience underlines the management decision to specify MEI on all future slots purchases.
Ewald Kirschenmann, Head of procurement of Gaming Equipment at Casinos Austria explains, “Our daily experience proves that the MEI bill validator is by far the top performer in its class in the marketplace in terms of acceptance rates, validation, the ease of maintenance and total costs. We have reviewed all of the products available to us at the moment, and MEI is definitely our first choice. Therefore, we will be clearly specifying MEI on all our future machine purchases. Our slot machine suppliers have been informed of this".
Customer service is of utmost importance to the casino management, as Kirschenmann points out: "Today the bill validator is one of the most important player interfaces on slot machines. Rejected banknotes always generate bad feelings amongst our visitors. This can disturb our guests, causing them to ask themselves questions like: Did I do something wrong? Do I have a counterfeit? or Am I going to run into trouble with the authorities? They then tend to hesitate in continuing their game. Therefore our top priority in this area is to offer the most reliable and the most accurate equipment possible”.
Casinos Austria VAT trial with MEI continued over several months and the positive results encouraged Casinos Austria to specify MEI on new machine purchases. Today the number of slots with MEI fitted has grown to over two hundred.
Mark Greenawalt, MEI’s Vice President of Gaming and Retail in Europe and Africa, stated, “The true value of a note validator lies in its ability to make the operator more money. Our sincere thanks go to the management team at Casinos Austria who embraced the MEI trial and saw this through MEI’s increased acceptance and security. We are very proud to be specified in Austria which is such an important country for the gaming industry”.
