Online Casino Ladbrokes announces 2008 profits
(UK).- Ladbrokes announced that despite the economic downturn, the gambling site had managed to turn a profit in 2008. Overall, with the exception of “high rollers” the site increased profits with an 11.1% boost to revenue.

The action from “high rollers” was severely decreased. They still wagered us$ 116 million but this pales in comparison to the us$ 246.5 million they wagered in 2007. Overall, however, online casino players, poker players and sportsbetters wagered us$ 249.7 million in 2008.
Ladbrokes CEO Christopher Bell said: “Our performance in the first six weeks of the year shows a gross win growth of 1%, excluding High Rollers. Since the start of the year, [High Rollers’] business has contributed a further us$ 34.8 million to operating profit to the organization.”
