The train runs on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor line from New York to Northeast Philadelphia and then on New Jersey Transit’s Atlantic City line, with only one stop, in Newark, New Jersey. The operators are Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Caesars Atlantic City and Harrah’s Resort.
At us$ 50 for a one-way ticket in coach and us$ 75 in first class, the train is more expensive than casino buses. But casinos hope that a comfortable trip from Penn Station to Atlantic City in about 2 hours and 40 minutes will be attractive.
The train also offers food and beverage service, including alcoholic beverages. Coach passengers have to belly up to the snack bar, while first-class includes service at your seat. "People are going to enjoy the experience," said Joseph Domenico, senior vice president of Caesars and Bally’s Atlantic City.
