In such contest, there will be able to participate organizations of the providing chain of this sector, among them, manufacturers of equipment and machines, energy providers as well as government representatives, organizations of consumers and related to the environmental issues, NGOs, trade unions, casino operators and final users.
On top of participating in the committee for the development of the norm, that will be called "Sustainable Gaming Standard (LEO 8000- 200x)", interested parties will be able to invest in a sub-committee, make a financial contribution to that aim or commit themselves to use the norm, once approved, to prove the sustainability of its products and services.
This norm will be adjusted to ANSI regulation, and the committee in charge will have to develop a wide frame to evaluate the social, environmental and economic behavior. In this task, they will pay a special attention to the use of energy, the reduction of emissions, the use of sustainable materials and the promotion of a continuous improvement of the sustainability of the practices in the gaming industry.
In order to promote the elaboration of this norm, Leonardo Academy has collaborated, since last autumn, with EGM Green, a company that designs and manufactures ecological casino tables, and consults on respectful practices with the environment for casinos, hotels, resorts and homes.
"These and other voluntary norms will contribute to make the market boost the development of an ecologic economy and will lead the sustainability to new sectors. Besides, voluntary norms are important tools to encourage the change, because it allows all the representatives of a sector to commit in the process for its elaboration”, added Michael Arny, president of Leonardo Academy.
