The traditionally slow tourist season is between August 17 to October 5; therefore, the closure of the resort during this period is to assist in minimizing the negative impact this season has on the overall financial well-being of the property.

In a press statement yesterday, BGR President Sidney Strachan said his organization sees the current laws as inadequate to cope with the changing dynamics of the international gaming industry.

He added that the arcane and archaic discriminatory policies are debilitating to the potential for growth in a very important sector of the touristic product and denying citizens and residents every opportunity to participate in this growth.
