Repton provides free gaming seminars at this month’s IGE in London

The guest speakers, internet safety expert John Carr and Chris Heaton-Harris MEP, will help delegates understand possible future changes in European e-gaming legislation. This includes the breakup of existing national gambling monopolies and a more collaborative approach for increased market competition. With a choice of six half-day sessions, delegates will also gain from Repton’s thorough knowledge of IT for gaming applications.

John Carr is NetIDme’s Director of Corporate Relations and the Executive Secretary of the UK’s Children’s Charities’ Coalition on Internet Safety which includes NCH, NSPCC and Barnardo’s. NetIDme is a commercial online age and identity verification service. Carr has worked closely with law enforcement and has extensive experience of gaming concerns as well as the Gaming Act. He also acts an advisor for online child safety to the UK and international governments.

Chris Heaton-Harris MEP is President of the European Parliament’s Sports Intergroup and a member of two major committees - Internal Market and Consumer Affairs Committee and the Culture Committee. He will talk about the evolving attitude towards e-gaming in Europe, outlining possible future changes to European e-gaming legislation. He is supportive of EU ideas which call for the breakup of national gambling monopolies and increased market competition.

The seminars include sessions on current and future business or legal issues, complying with the one account per customer law, identifying problem gambling and gamblers, finding and examining money laundering trends, fraud avoidance, spotting the online danger signs of betting irregularities, IT security, regulatory compliance, and business continuity.

The six half-day Repton seminars will be held in the Marlborough Room within the Philbeach Suite on the first floor of Earls Court One.
