Africamillions will be a Pan African lottery based on the Euromillions model. BR Gaming Africa, the company which initiated the game in collaboration with the African Association of State lotteries (AALE), will also support the national lotteries, Mam Campbell, press agent of the former sportsman, pointed out. “Africamillions aims at boosting the economy in the continent since a player can win up to one million euros”, he highlighted.

The organizers want to rapidly cover a large number of countries thanks to the close link between the company and the member States of the African Association of State lotteries. It is already scheduled for March or April 2009, with a group of five to ten members of the AALE. Moreover, the managing directors of the national lotteries of Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Togo, Senegal and Mali were present at the gala dinner organized to introduce the future lottery, which took place on Friday 9 January.

”It is important to go into partnership with some national lotteries which have the monopoly in order to cheer up people, make them dream and make their dream come true” Boli pointed out.

The former footballer is not a first-timer. In fact, he specified, “after my career, I created a few lottery concepts in Africa, including Pronosport which is working very well”.

Africamillions will consist in a combination of numbers to find. Numbered balls will be inserted into secured spheres and will be used to draw the winning combination. The players who possess this combination will win the jackpot.

Amateurs will be able to participate thanks to the outlet network in their respective country. Basile Boli underscored that he and his team are bringing “a real investment” to Sub-Saharan Africa to develop this lottery.
