The ninth project inaugurated in the new casino industry comprises an investment of us$ 30 million and the creation of 560 direct and permanent employments, has 292 slots, 21 table games and 108 bingo positions, on top of a bar and a restaurant. Casino Sol will operate from Sundays to Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 a.m.
Leiva stated that “Casino Sol of Osorno complies with the regulation set by SCJ so the new casinos apply technical and transparency standards as developed countries”. “On top of the gaming material authorized by SCJ, it also controlled that all slots were new, that its instructions should be in Spanish and that all of them guarantee their customers a percentage of the prize for the player, no less than 85% of the total of the combination of possible plays”.
The 20% of the gross gaming income that new casinos have to pay – a gaming tax- must also be invested in developments in favor of the population, as in health, public lightning, squares, etc.
The Superintendent, then, explained that “estimations point that for January 2010, Osorno Council and the regional government of Los Lagos would have received –each- close to us$ U$S 646.129 on concept of specific gaming tax.”
With a deadline of March 29, 2009, Casino Sol will continue the construction of the rest of the complete project, comprised by a five-star hotel, gymnasium and heated swimming pool, bowling, bar and restaurants.
Of the 18 new casinos that comprise the new industry authorized in Chile, tomorrow it will be certified and inaugurated, today it will be inaugurated Temuco casino, and the casino of Valdivia is in the verification stage. The casinos that are currently operating are the ones in: Antofagasta, Copiapó, Santa Cruz, Mostazal, Talca, Pinto (Termas de Chillán), Talcahuano, Los Ángeles and Osorno; and finally, the casinos that are being being developed are in Calama, Ovalle, San Antonio, Rinconada, Valdivia, Castro, Coyhaique and Punta Arenas.
