Chile: Osorno and Temuco casinos to be inaugurated this week

Osorno Casino Sol (Latin Gaming-Clairvest) informed to SCJ last November 21th that it was ready to open its doors to the public, and concluded to resolve the 26 observations related to pending construction, operation and procedures. Besides, Casino de Juegos Temuco (Fischer) demanded its certification and inauguration last November 24th, and also finished last Friday to solve the 32 observations, to comply with the law and norms currently in force.

Osorno casino will be the ninth regulated casino, controlled by SCJ, which will open its doors to the public, followed by the one in Temuco. So far, the eight new casinos currently operating are located in Antofagasta, Copiapó, Santa Cruz, Mostazal, Talca, Pinto (Termas de Chillán), Talcahuano and Los Ángeles.

The rest of the developments of Osorno project will continue their construction until next March 29th, 2009, which comprises a five-star hotel, a gym and heated swimming pools, a convention hall, thematic boulevard, bowling, bar and restaurants. In the case of Temuco project, SCJ authorized last December 29th the beginning of the commercial operation of its convention center and disco, but the operating society must conclude next March 4th the five-star hotel, business center; spa, gymnasium and heated swimming pool, a restaurant boulevard, an exhibition hall, handicraft stores, games for children, etc.

The complete project of Casino Sol of Osorno comprises a total investment of us$ 30 million, and the generation of 560 permanent direct employments. The new casino will have 292 slots, 21 table games and 108 bingo positions, on top of a bar and a restaurant.

The integral project of Temuco Casino comprises a total investment of us$ 54 million, and the generation of 437 permanent direct employments. The new casino will have 580 slots, 36 table games and 352 bingo positions, on top of a bar and a restaurant.
