An initiative to regulate games of chance presented in Mexico

The proposal plans to issue the Federal Law of Games with Bets and Draws to regulate this activity in Mexico completely, under a transparent legal frame which to bring security to players and bettors and prevents impunity and corruption in the sector.

Obsolete legal regulations due to the technological improvements in the sector make imperative its complete legislation.

The proposal, sent to the Tourist Commission, is focused in the boost of tourism, as well as in the boost of the development of regional and local entities. "We want more job opportunities to be generated and stimulate investments for the development of social and economic programs, mainly in communities in which entertainment centers will be installed”.

In order to fight bribery and impunity it is established that licenses will be subject to regulations of the Federal Law Against Organized Crime, as well as operating specifications with illegal origin issued by the Attorney General’s Office, the Secretary of Economy and Public Credit and other competent authorities.

Among the subscribers to the initiative there are representatives Armando García Méndez (PSD); Martha Angélica Romo Jiménez (PAN) and María Soledad López Torres (PRD).
