Luis Lauredo is the new president of Codere in Argentina

Lauredo was US ambassador before the Organization of American States (OAS), and now was appointed by Spanish corporation Codere to lead the business of the company in Argentina, so he will be in charge of dealing with Buenos Aires governor, Daniel Scioli.

Businessman and appointed as ambassador by Bill Clinton, Lauredo arrived in the US in 1962 from Cuba, together with his mother, his brother and two sisters. There, he was granted a scholarship to study in the University of Columbia, where he graduated in arts.

Then, he had several specializations in the University of Madrid, is Spain, and in the Legal Center of Georgetown University, in US. His long career in public administration started in the State of Florida, as a volunteer for the campaign of Miami Mayor for Maurice Ferre. Some time later, he was elected for a local charge in

Key Biscayne. He became the first Latin American member of the Commission of Public Service in Florida, and then he resigned to become executive director of the

Summit of the Americas.

In Florida he has an intense activity in the support of the Latin American citizens. There, he was elected, last August, as a member of the Council of Latin Affairs for Barack Obama campaign.

His political role grew with Clinton. In fact, he was appointed special ambassador, and represented former president Bill Clinton in different acts in which presidents of Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil took office.

In his private activity, Lauredo headed Greenberg Taurig, an affliliate of the international lawyer’s firm of the same name, specialized in international affairs, energy, telecommunications, banking issues, etc.

Besides, new Codere president in Argentina was chosen by the magazine Hispanic Business, as one of the 100 Latin American men with more influence in the United States.

As president of the company Hunton&Williams, was chosen as member of the Spanish-United States Chamber of Commerce, which acts as a consultant to multi-national corporations and governments in strategies, business and commerce.
