Argentina: The number of slots allowed was doubled in the Province of Cordoba

The official party achieved the aim demanded by governor Juan Schiaretti. IN the immediate future, there will be 5,400 slots in the province, operated by the firm CET, belonging to Roggio group.

Of the 64 legislators present, 38 voted in favor, 25 against and there was one abstention.

Legislator from UCR party, Emilio Graglia, that is part of the official group for having worked with Héctor Campana, decided to support the initiative because it included a mention on the responsibility of the government in the prevention and support of gambling problems, and because Minister of the Government, Carlos Caserio, promised him the creation, in 2009, of a Regional Council to prevent addictions, as Graglia had proposed.

Article one says that the government is authorized to increment the installation and operation of slots, up to a maximum of 2,400, in the province, under the conditions and restrictions set in the current legislation. It also states that there should be an improvement on the conditions of the contracts that the province currently has with local governments.

Article two states that the government must guarantee and increment the current policies to prevent gambling problems, and must also promote, through the Lottery of the Province of Cordoba, the development, execution and finance of complete programs to support the fight of this gambling problems.
