What does Gemaco mean in the gaming business?

For almost four decades, Gemaco Inc. has been the first manufacturer of top-quality cards and it recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Currently, the full dedication of Gemaco to the casino industry is evident, with more than 70% of the production capacity dedicated to cards, both Backjack cards as well as 100% plastic cards (for poker), exclusively for the casino industry.

Nowadays, Gemaco supplies cards for almost 350 casinos worldwide, through representatives in Moscow and local representatives in North America, South America and Macau.

Which are the main features of Gemaco cards?

Starting with the design, the printing and the delivery of products, passing through the recycle and destruction, no other games of chance supplier offers such a wide range of supporting services for its products.

The Integral Card Administration System is in charge of the most important problems for its casino customers: Security in all its production phases, a top quality, based in employees specially trained for the work, exceptional customer service and customized attention, flexibility in the design, production and distribution of the product; compatibility with all the automatic shufflers existing in the market.

Which are the global plans for next year? Will you release new products? In what percentage will the sales grow?

The release of our own collection of chips and tables has already been performed in G2E 2008. We think sales will grow a 25 to 40% for 2009.

Which is your opinion on the development of the gaming scenario worldwide, and what are the differences with the current casinos compared to the ones ten years ago, especially in the South American markets?

Nowadays, everything is video, speed, electronics, and the most important things for any operator are top-quality products and service.

A new trade event, the first one in the sector, will be held in March in the Caribbean: it is Aruba Gaming Show. What information have you received on the matter and which is your opinion?

It is something that could have started a long time ago, but it would be more interesting if it could be rotary: one year in Aruba, another one in another country, so all the countries that participate in the event could enjoy the benefits of this magnificent event.

The fact of having events in Central and South America every two months is an expense that is not justified. Some of them grow and others die, so it would be ideal to rotate the place of the shows, so they would be bigger and better.
