Pennsylvania casinos can double their smoking sections
(US).- Slots in the smoking sections of Pennsylvania casinos have performed far better in the last three months than machines in nonsmoking sections.

Those numbers in a report released last week by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board mean the state’s seven slot-machine casinos can double the size of their smoking sections.
All told, the machines in smoking sections performed better by 60 to 120 %, depending on the casino. A new state law banning smoking in most public spaces and workplaces allows smokers to keep lighting up in a quarter of a casino’s gambling floor.
The law took effect in September, and allows casinos to expand their smoking sections if three-month revenue numbers show greater demand for it.
