Arizona casino set to open November 20

(US).- Despite current shaky economy, the Lone Butte casino in south Chandler is scheduled to open November 20 following the biggest drop in quarterly casino gaming revenue in recent years.

The new us$ 60 million, 11,148 sqm casino will have 850 slot machines, 24 blackjack and Pai Gow poker tables, a 750-seat bingo hall, six restaurants and 2,500 parking spaces. It will employ about 800 workers.

Tribal contributions to the state from Indian gaming in Arizona fell more than 9 %, to us$ 25 million in the quarter that ended September 30. Those contributions reflect casino earnings since tribes are required to give 1 % to 8 % of their gross gaming revenue to the state, cities, towns and counties.
