By early next year, Singaporeans can apply for themselves or their family members to be excluded from casinos at the integrated resorts. Under the council’s latest public consultation, it plans to set a minimum 12-month period before these people can apply to revoke the order.

At least another 29,000 undischarged bankrupts, or those receiving public assistance, are expected to be automatically excluded. And those under third party exclusions can apply for revocation if they no longer meet the criteria for exclusion.

The proposal by the council signals the gravity of an exclusion order and also prevents frivolous applications. All exclusion orders are to stay in effect until an application for revocation has been received and approved, including third party exclusions.

The council is asking the public to give feedback on the revocation process on the government’s feedback channel reach.
