Measured by the amount of stakes, StarPort, a central lottery system with interactive video lottery terminals, which the company introduced in June 2004, is Sazka’s third biggest product – after number lotteries Sportka (1957) and Šťastných 10 (1994).
Stakes after deduction of winnings were up by 60% y/y in 2007, with this year’s developments being much the same. Using the Nikita, Mia or Kara terminals, StarPort offers nearly 30 slot, casino and number games, sports bets and instant lotteries.
The StarPort gaming system offers an unprecedented game portfolio, which is regularly enhanced with new additions and updates. Another advantage is what is known as the ‘system jackpot’, which has climbed to almost us$ 390,714. The highest prize to date, of more than us$ 260,476, has been won at StarPort terminals in the Ye Ha Hai game. Sazka also intends to offer non-lottery products, such as the mobile phone top-up service or ticketing, through StarPort in the future. It will also enable StarPort players to become members of the Sazka Club loyalty scheme, which has only been available to odds betting players so far.
Given its technical parameters, StarPort enables state supervision authorities to monitor constantly all gaming and financial transactions; eliminates black or grey economy; creates room for higher contributions to good causes; and provides new precautions against compulsive gambling, irresponsible or underage gaming.
Sazka’s supplier and technological partner for StarPort, a central lottery system with interactive video lottery terminals, is Cyberview Technology, a branch of IGT and part of the world’s largest gaming product manufacturer.
