"SAGSE left a highly positive impression to the whole industry"

What impression do you have of the 16th edition of SAGSE Buenos Aires?

No doubt, it left us a highly positive impression for the whole industry. Considering the little contrasts we have had, which could have caused any difference with we were accustomed to have, we are very satisfied with the results. The public is also very satisfied, as well as exhibitors.

With regards to the level of exhibitors this year, Do you consider that it was similar to previous years? Did the companies bring more support, or the organization of another event had more influence in the presence of the national industry?

We have had 60 national exhibitors, both belonging to commercial and industrial sectors, which means that a 40% of the convention center was occupied by local firms. The result was excellent. The national industry is considering the gaming industry, and we were a good representation of the national industry. Obviously, the main international companies of the sector participated in the event, too, so this is an event that represents the gaming sector in general.

According to what you could listen or see with regards to exhibitors… Which do you think is the impression they had from the event?

We are receiving the feedback with the renovation of participants: a 70% has already confirmed its participation for the following year, and this is very positive. Next week we will begin to send written messages, but it a 70% want to book his position, as it happens year after year, and some of them wish to expand it. No one said that is not interested in returning to SAGSE, so I consider that the other event did not harm SAGSE at all; it was just a nuisance for the public.

According to the information, the dates of next year edition have moved forward a bit, compared to the international schedule...

Yes, and that has to do with the availability of the convention center, because this event has 30,000 sqm and there are not such large facilities in Buenos Aires. That’s why we have to adapt the dates, although I consider it is ideal to separate a bit more from Las Vegas event. Next SAGSE edition will be September 30th, October 1 and 2, and for us it is a positive change. This year we are reaching the limit in the calendar, because it is only a month to Las Vegas, and it is too soon, so the change will be better both for exhibitors and visitors.

An award was created for the women of the sector. Which was the idea of this recognition?

We are always thinking what can we do to bring more glamour and level to the exhibition and to our activity, too, and we have thought in considering the worth of the women that work in this industry. There was an extraordinary presence; 40 women received their awards and they were very happy, very satisfied with the recognition.

What do you expect the event to have next year or what would you like to improve?

I think we reached a positive limit, and we cannot expect more: a serious business event, which is large and well positioned. The dimensions will be the same as next year, although we always have another pavilion in case it is necessary to expand the trade event. But the age limit is better than we can have, and we cannot do more for SAGSE, which is an ideal place to do business in the region.
