What are you presenting in SAGSE Buenos Aires 2008?
GLI has a long history in Latin America, and we have been working directly with regulators for more than 10 years. GLI’s participation in shows like SAGSE are always excellent opportunities to meet with regional regulators and manufacturers – both those whom we have known and worked with for 10 years, as well as new regulators who have been referred to GLI based on our strong reputation in the region. We are very excited about SAGSE because there are many new regulatory developments in the Latin American market. The gaming industry is very interested in getting into these markets that are starting to regulate and that are seen as attractive opportunities to invest. Our intention is to use this event as a means to talk with new jurisdictions about how GLI has been serving the region, what services we offer and our depth of experience.
Been almost the end of the year, Which balance can you make and which plans and objectives do you have for 2009?
GLI has been very fortunate because we have continued to grow ever since our first step in the region, when we were accredited as the first certification laboratory in Peru more than 10 years ago. Since then, we had devoted our efforts to serve our clients: the Regulators and the suppliers. Our work in Latin America, as well as in the 400 jurisdictions to which we perform certifications, goes a lot further than just the certification of gaming devices. Specifically in this region, we have been active and played a leading role in the regulatory processes that have been intensified in the last years in Latin America. Of course, this benefits not just the regulators, but also the operators and suppliers of the region.
GLI is always preferred by Latin American Gaming Regulators because they are benefited by our indisputable experience in terms of gaming technology, and by our versatility that experience. The combination of these elements allows us to innovate regarding technical standards on new technology.
And, proving our commitment to the region, just in the last year, GLI acquired the creation of GLI South America through the agreement with the Universidad Nacional de La Plata who will be with us in our booth, and with NYCE in Mexico, two entities which prestige and recognition precedes them.
