The legislation for Comma 6B machines (or VLTs) is currently undergoing examination by AAMS (the Italian Regulator). Its introduction is anticipated for 2009. Comma 6B machines will supply Server Based Gaming services and will therefore reduce many of the currently existing limitations with regards to issues such as central monitoring, proper taxation, money laundering and underage gaming.
With a population of 60 million, the Italian gaming market is one of the top three gaming markets in Europe and represents a significant growth potential for both organisations.
Fabio Schiavolin, Cogetech CEO, quotes: “We have chosen ACE Interactive to be our partner for the VLT business because both parties complement each other in the most suitable way. While COGETECH certainly knows and understands how to operate video gaming in Italy and enjoys utmost customer confidence, ACE Interactive provides the most advanced Server Based Gaming System with its TruServ platform.
“With its market proven Indago iVT (interactive Video Terminal), combined with a powerful game mix of Aristocrat and local games, we certainly know that we will deliver an appealing offer to the Italian players,” Schiavolin added.
Michael Koch, ACE Interactive CEO, states: “We are excited about our partnership with Cogetech in the Italian VLT market. Over the past few years it has established a solid, well respected field service organisation and currently already administers more that 33,000 gaming machines under the existing Comma 6A legislation.”
“We are confident that together we have all the ingredients to generate success for both companies whilst providing the best games in a responsible gaming environment to the Italian player under the pending Comma 6B legislation,” Koch concluded.
