DEQ appoints a new member to the Board of Directors

(Canada). DEQ informed about the appointment of Michael Hackman to the Board of the company. He has more than 30 years experience in the Asian and Australian gaming and lottery industry.

His experience includes executive management positions spanning five Australian government-licensed casinos, specializing in the opening and establishment of operations and the conceptualization and implementation of wide-area networked games.

In 1993, Hackman founded the Admirals Group to provide operational management expertise to the growing Asian and Australian gaming markets, commencing with the gaming management contracts onboard the Tasmanian government-owned Spirit of Tasmania ships, P&O Cruises and Norwegian Capricorn Line.

Hackman is currently serving as managing director of Admirals Group. The team boasts considerable experience and expertise in all facets of gaming management, policy advice and regulation in both Australian and international jurisdictions. As well, Hackman is currently Vice-President of the Tasmanian Section of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia and has been bestowed Life Membership for services to this iconic Australian organization

His educational expertise includes a Master of Politics and Public Policy from Macquarie University and a Graduate Certificate of Management from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of NSW. Hackman is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Graduate of the Royal Australian Air Force Officer Training School. He is also is a current member of the Australasian Gaming Council, the National Association for Gambling Studies and is a committee member on the Tasmanian Gambling Industry Group.

Marcel Lachance, co-founder, former Chief Financial Officer and board member of DEQ has offered his seat on the Board of Directors to make way for the arrival of Michael Hackman. The Board of Directors accepted Marcel Lachance's resignation noting the many important accomplishments that Marcel has made over the course of his 10 years of dedication to DEQ.

In accordance with the company's Board of Director's previously disclosed compensation plan, 100,000 stock options were issued to Mike Hackman as per the stock option plan of the Corporation. Each option will confer to its holder the right to subscribe one common share of DEQ Systems Corp. at an exercise price of 60 cents per share. Stock options are fully vested as of the date of grant.
