Last September 7th was to the day of the final of the Partouche Poker Tour that took place at Palm Beach, Cannes. Last January, Groupe Partouche adapted a software developed by the company Red Planet Gaming and crowned with a Gaming Awards during the ICE event in London.
Partouche Interactive, the group's subsidiary, was present in the sector of online games with two paying websites, namely www.partouche-betting.com, a sports betting website which is inaccessible to the French players for now and is essentially focused on the British market, and www.partouchegammon.com, a paying website dedicated to backgammon.
Poker in all its aspects is one of the major stakes of Groupe Partouche. More than 120 tables and 44 poker rooms have been set up since the licence to operate Texas hold'em poker was granted to French casinos. The Group said they would welcome 1.500 poker players per day and recruited 320 persons only to operate the Texas hold'em poker tables.
Patrick Partouche, chairman of the board of directors of the Group, said last week on BFM radio that “poker is the driving force for casinos” in this crisis period, even if he admits the fact that this table game is not profitable yet. “All things are not dedicated to make money immediately, he added. Today, the casino model, as we know it, is badly affected. It needs modernization, a new identity. We think that poker is the crown jewel of Groupe Partouche”.
