The company has already received online gaming licenses for its casino and poker products by Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Authority, and the addition of a gaming licence for bingo will enable it to service its growing base of operators in the EU.

Malta - the first EU member state to regulate remote gaming - offers four classes of remote gaming license, with applicants undergoing probity checks as part of a wider fit and proper exercise, business and technical assessment, and finally a compliance audit.

Roger Raatgever, Microgaming CEO, said: "Malta continues to be a growing hub of European gaming with a successful regulatory model and we have continued our significant investment in Malta by implementing various on-site servers.

"These will not only enhance connectivity and resilience for online gaming, but also contribute to a superior experience for operators and players, alike. This provides Microgaming with the opportunity to offer our operators an additional gateway into the EU and we are delighted to add bingo to our software offering."
