In addition to its routes operating between the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong and the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal in Macao, CotaiJet also has plans to operate ferry services between the China Ferry Terminal Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong and the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal.
"The expanded CotaiJet ferry service will provide a viable transportation option for visitors who come to Macao for conventions and exhibitions, family leisure, and arena and theater entertainment, such as the Cirque du Soleil show ZAIA, which begins this summer," said Stephen Weaver, president of Las Vegas Sands Asian region. "The increased frequency and later sailing hours will help reduce the waiting times for visitors coming to Macao during peak travel periods and ease traffic congestion on the Macao peninsula, thus enhancing the overall experience for visitors."
CotaiJet’s expanded roundtrip daily ferry service between Hong Kong and Macao now runs from 7:00 am to 11:30 pm. Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., CotaiJet operates with service every 30 minutes instead of its current one-hour intervals. The additional routes increases the capacity of the current CotaiJet service by 250 percent. Over time, the company plans to operate the service in 15-minute intervals and on a 24-hour a day basis.
"For Macao to reach its potential as a world-class business and leisure destination, it must continue investing in the transportation infrastructure that will enable more convenient access to the world-class amenities Macao now has to offer," said Weaver. "These expanded ferry services will help improve and expand that access and will allow more visitors from across the region and around the world to contribute to Macao’s continuing transformation into an international leisure and business destination."
