Jose Anibal Aguirre, General Director of the show, commented: “This event began 10 years ago in Cartagena with five exhibitors, and this year we have had 140 exhibitors and 4,000 visitors”.

“All the equipment that entered the Transitory Free trade Zone were sole and the International Gaming Fair, CIJA, surpassed expectations with the participation of four hundred registered people. We are proud of these results and we are very grateful for the support and confidence you offered us with your presence, the associations and operators of countries such as Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Panama and logically, Colombia,” added Aguirre.

“It favors meetings among entrepreneurs, operators, and the State, to strengthen strategic alliances and promote the development of this important industry in our country” declared Mery Luz Londoño, president of the Health Territorial Company, ETESA, which is the entity that supervises the games of chance in Colombia. The officer explained that the money received by the government of the gaming industry is used to finance health services and added that “FADJA is an excellent opportunity to advance and adapt our gaming national market to the international development”.

For the first time, the lotteries and permanent betting companies in Colombia were also present; important gaming sectors who also contribute to the improvement of the hospital capacity and health of the Colombians with their economic activity, generating sources of employment for their salespersons and opportunities to their players.

The presidents of the Colombian Lottery Federation, FEDELCO, Claudia Jimenz Muñoz; the Colombian Federation of Localized games, FECOLJUEGOS, Rocio Albornoz; and the Colombian Gaming Federation, FECEAZAR, Baltazar Medina, were pleased with the organization and announcement of the event, confirming that they will hold their annual assemblies ad board of director meetings during the exhibition. This allowed their members to be present not only in the event but also in the academic event which took place in FADJA.

Real and potential buyers, entrepreneurs and operators interested in the products presented in the Andean Gaming Fair filled the exhibition room and offered their unconditional support to FADJA 2008 from the beginning, satisfying the business expectations of those who came to celebrate the ten years of the organization that in the gaming industry is a pride of the Andean Region.

“We have come to prove that we receive only a few curious visitors and a lot of buyers who come to see the new technologies, trying to modernize their businesses in the countries of the Andean area and preferably in the Colombian departments, who were present in the halls of FADJA 2008”, added Aguirre.

“The visit of the senators and representatives backing the institutionalism of the industry and the hard work of the entrepreneurs, from the legislating organisms of the Congress of the Republic, no doubt ratify that we are a serious, productive and effective event for all the gaming sector, which makes us begin working right now in the organization of FADJA 2009. We do not intend to grow, we only wish to maintain our levels of productivity and constantly adjust the trade event to the expansion parameters which the industry in the region imposes,” finally declared Jose Aníbal Aguirre.
