“Full Approval” status from the UK Gambling Commission is granted to test houses that have passed the Commission's assessment of integrity and independence and have obtained full accreditation to ISO 17025, which covers the scope of the Gambling Commission's standard. Full approval covers all categories including “Remote Technical Standards,” “All categories of Gaming Machines” and “Requirements for bingo and Casino Equipment.”

GLI Europe Managing Director Ian Hughes said, “At GLI, we continue to aggressively pursue certifications and accreditations that will be beneficial to our customers. With this approval status, now more than ever before, regulators, manufacturers and operators can be assured that GLI is the most capable testing lab, in Europe and around the globe.”

According to the UK Gambling Commission's website, testing for many categories of games, including A, B1, B2 and B3, must be completed by 31 August 31. Hughes said, “Many suppliers have taken advantage of the lead times given for full testing, having full approval adds an additional layer of confidence in the testing undertaken by GLI.”

GLI previously had received provisional approval, and after successful completion of a two-staged approval process, the Gambling Commission granted the company full approval status.

The Commission investigated GLI to ensure its offices satisfied the Commission's integrity and independence checks. The Commission also verified that GLI had obtained ISO 17025 accreditation, which covers the Commission's technical standards and specifications from an internationally recognized accreditation body.

The approval means GLI is able to test compliance against the Commission's technical standards for remote gambling systems and gambling software and a set list of gambling machines. This includes the gaming machine technical standards applicable to server networked and downloadable gaming machine requirements; wireless gaming machine systems; cashless gaming machine payment systems; and linked progressive gaming machines.

Additionally GLI is approved to test compliance with the Commission's specifications for bingo and casino equipment used in remote gambling in reliance on an ancillary remote license.
