"I am pleased to turn over the reins to someone as talented and capable as Mrs. Arnsdorff," said past-president Diana Varnado. "Our members network with business professionals along the Coast and are dedicated to the safety of not only their businesses, but our community as well," said Arnsdorff.

The Gulf Coast Risk Managers’ Association (GCRMA) was originally established in 1995 as the Gulf Coast Casino Risk Managers Association. The objective of the association was to provide a format to share information and experiences with the membership in an effort to reduce exposure and costs in the area of General Liability, Workers’ Compensation and Safety.

As the association grew and prospered the membership recognized the limitations of restricting its membership to casinos. In 1996 the by-laws were amended to provide membership to all types of businesses relating to the fields of General Liability, Workers’ Compensation and Safety. As the by-laws were changed, so was the name, to the present GCRMA.

GCRMA is incorporated as a non-profit organization. Since its incorporation GCRMA has continued to grow in its membership base to include a wide range of industry, gaming, municipal, medical, insurance and other fields of business from Bossier City to Mobile, Alabama. Membership includes Risk Managers, Safety Managers, Workers’ Compensation Managers, Medical Case Managers, Insurance Adjusters, Loss Control Specialists, Physicians, Physical Therapist, Hospitals, Occupational Medicine Specialists, Legal Firms, Security Firms and Investigations.

Members share in the goals of the organization, to efficiently manage business risks while reducing operating costs. GCRMA meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at various businesses. The next meeting is scheduled for March 13th at 11:30 a.m. at Treasure Bay Casino in the VIP Buffet Room.
