The firm has launched a website at PlayCherry.com to offer gambling aboard ships while they are in international waters, circumventing the legal complications of working through different nations.

PlayCherry's parent company, Cherryforetagen, already operates slot machine halls in Denmark along with gambling operations in Sweden and on ships traversing around northern Europe and the Mediterranean and stated that it holds gaming contracts for vessels transporting around 25 million passengers per year.

“We have high demands on our partners and I am, therefore, satisfied that PlayCherry carries out its online venture together with Entraction, a company that offers a superior gaming experience in a secure and regulated environment,” said Gunnar Lind, CEO for Cherryforetagen. “PlayCherry has a unique possibility to sign agreements to market gaming services in co-operation with vessels we already co-operate with as many of the passengers are interested in online gaming.”

“There are probably few companies that know more about gaming in Europe and, therefore, we are particularly proud that PlayCherry has chosen to co-operate with us in their online venture,” said Peter Astrom, CEO for Entraction.
