Legislator Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, from Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI), said that, although the law bans the operation of such devices, it does not punish its possession, which prevents from its seizure once they are not operating.

PRI senator pointed that this legal vacuum encourages the sale, commercialization and maintenance of slots without regulation.

That's why, he said, the aim is to change the Federal Law of Games and Draws to bring Segob the right to “seize not only slots but any other object they possess and / or operate”.

Moreno Cárdenas added that they aim to boost joint operatives with the three government levels in order to combat illegal gambling, mainly in places like drug stores and other shops.
