Macau: Stanley Ho to open its 19th casino next February 1st

(Macau).- Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho will inaugurate next February 1st, its 19th casino. The new complex has the following shareholders: Sociedad de Juegos de Macao Investments, with the 51% and the firm Macau Success, with the 49%.

On top of the gambling venue, which will have 107 table games and almost 300 slots, the complex Puente 16 will also host commercial zones, pubs, a convention space and different entertainment zones.

Located in Puerto Interior, the complex Puente 16 will also have a hotel from French chain Sofitel, which will have 420 luxury rooms, pubs, swimming pool, gym, etc.

The project Puente 16, comprised in the investments of Sociedad de Juegos de Macao as compensation of the granting, in 2002, of a gaming license to the company of tycoon Stanley Ho, had an estimated cost at the beginning of 2006 of us$ 307.4 million.

The development, built with the aim to boost one of the old zones of the city (Puerto Interior) is comprised in Macao Historical Center, qualified as a Worldwide Heritage by UNESCO by mid 2005. Macau gambling sector closed 2007 with a gross income of US$ 10.6 million.
