The Jury of Prosecution of Judges, which dictated the removal with the unanimity of its seven members, considered that there are “doubts” if Tiscornia had asked four million dollars to the games of chance firm Codere, the worst accusation on the judge.

The removal was based on the “bad development” of Tiscornia for “being against the decisions of the Appeal Chamber for Economic Affairs, which “repeatedly” applied sanctions to him and separated him from two cases in which he acted as a judge.

The jury said that he “Insisted in dictating resolution which were rejected by the chamber due to vices of nullity and did not respect the resolutions of his superiors,

which damaged the parts involved in these lawsuits”.

Guillermo Tiscornia told the press that his removal was because he “had a bad relationship” with the members of the Appeal Chamber for Economic Affaire and remarked that the accusation of bribery to Codere “was ruled out”.

The jugde begun a month ago due to the Council of the Tribunal, a control entity of the Judicial Power comprised by judges, lawyers and legislators, after the government had not accepted the resign of the jugde.

Spanish Luis Miguel Cabeza de Vaca Nieto, director of Codere, had reported that, in March 2006, Agustín Tiscornia, father of the judge removed, asked 4 million dollars to favor the company in an alleged case of smuggling.

Its report, which is investigated by a federal judge, sustains that Agustín Tiscornia promised to issue a sentence to benefit the executives of the Spanish firm in the lawsuit in which his son was the judge, on exchange of the money.

Codere operates bingos and slots in the Argentine provinces of Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Jujuy, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero and La Rioja.
