"The event promises to be a perfect opportunity to network with the industry and celebrate excellence," said Colin Thompson of organiser Empire Events.
"The aim of the ceremony is to help international charities and promote a good image for the gaming industry," he added. The Gaming Awards will donate its profits through table bookings and sponsorships to the Macmillan House charity and Care International charity. "The event will give the industry the chance to publicly recognise the wonderful achievements of some of the people and companies during the year," said Thompson.
The ceremony will be presented by British comedian and television personality Jimmy Carr. "We would like to make it a truly international event and our plan is to relocate the awards ceremony to a different part of the world each year, supporting more charities around the globe," affirmed Thompson.
