Gtech extends Illinois Lottery contract

(US).- Gtech Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica S.p.A., announced that it has signed a one-year extension with the Illinois Lottery to continue providing online lottery products and services through October 16, 2008.

This is the final exercisable year under the Lottery’s current contract with Gtech. With respect to its contract extension with the Illinois Lottery, the firm expects to receive revenues of approximately us$ 35 million over the extension period. The firm has been providing products and services to the Illinois Lottery since 1989.

"The Illinois Lottery has been a valued customer of ours for close to 20 years, and during that time, we have helped them grow total ticket sales to nearly us$ 2 billion in the lottery’s most recent fiscal year," said W. Bruce Turner, Lottomatica S.p.A. and Gtech CEO. "We are pleased to continue our relationship and are grateful for the recognition of our efforts in Illinois."

Under the terms of the extension, Gtech will continue to provide the Lottery with central system operation and maintenance; terminal maintenance; communications network management; marketing support and retailer training.
