The new Operator's Advisory Committee was created out of GSA's recent Operator's Forum and is chaired by Don Karrer of Penn National Gaming and vice-chaired by Mick Constantino of MGM Mirage.
GSA has several award-winning protocols for the gaming industry, including the landmark Game-to-System (G2S) protocol, which will run an overwhelming majority of products that will be featured at the upcoming Global Gaming Expo. However, while manufacturers are widely using the new protocol, operators must be ready to use the protocol for the new games to work. Bridging that gap is the work of the new committee.
“The Operators Advisory Committee provides an exciting new opportunity for gaming manufacturers and casino operators to work together to help shape the future of our industry,” Karrer said.
The committee is comprised of representatives from a mix of GSA-member operator companies. The group is charged with facilitating collaboration between GSA member operators and member manufacturers and system providers with the purpose of determining future functional requirements from operators.
The group will then ensure alignment on those requirements between the operator and manufacturer communities.
The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) is an international trade association that creates benefits for gaming manufacturers, suppliers, operators and regulators which facilitates the identification, definition, development, promotion, and implementation of open standards to enable innovation, education, and communication for the benefit of the entire industry.
