After Ángel Echavarren Navarro, Slot Manager of Codere América, iniciated the talk, and asked speakers to make a brief introduction about Server Based Gaming. Enric Barba, Director of Unidesa Gaming and Systems, said: “There are two solutions: the Server Based Gaming and the Server Supported Game, which is in the machine, and it communicates with a Server in charge of downloading the game”.

“The evolution of this games will be step by step. There are many definitions and opinions on servers. For Bally it is the chance that its system, through the net, in the casino may have the Basic functions without spending money in new machines”, added John Connelly, Vice President of Sales and Operations of Bally Tech.

Besides, Sebastián Callieri, Director of IGT Latin America, explained that this technology is not only “the capacity of downloading games through a Server but also it is a concept that goes beyond. Competence makes us compete with very big technological elements, it makes the slot be like a shop window in which products are showcased and the operator chooses the games he wants to download in each machine”.

“This technology facilitates the management and reduces the operating costs”, added Sebastián Salat, Vice President of International Sales of WMS Gaming. Later, Echavarren asked: “Server Based Gaming aims that the life cycles of products are longer, What is beyond Server Based Gaming?”. “One always may detect when a game stopped working in real time and may choose a second successful game”, answered Barba.

Salat added: “The machine will have a longer life cycle than in present. Operators won't need to change the machina but the content. It also brings more possibilities to new betting systems and besides to games with mobile terminals”. “All manufacturers agreed to work on the same protocol. It is important for us to have a system which may use any brand”, added Callieri.

When Echavarren proposed to talk about how the system Works, eveyone agreed that technology is evolving once the players preferentes are known.

When they spoke on the subject of analyzing if players were prepared for Server Based gaming, Avron Gross, from Betstone and CEO of Abbey Entertainment, said: “I believe players are prepared. But the question is if regulators are ready for them”.

Hen talking about the legal frame, Callieri commented: “We could not enter in a so ambitious development if we hadn't count with the approval of regulators. We already have GLI and Nevada lab certifications”.

“The most complicated is to make the regulator understand that this system facilitates control. It is hard to make them understanf that software and hardware should not neccesarily be together always It would even make illegality disappear”, concluded Salat.
