A spokesperson for Aristocrat told the Australian Herald Sun newspaper that the us$ 179.6 million value of claims put forward by lawyers representing Dorajay was significantly less than stated, adding that there was no basis for such a figure. "(I’m) not sure how they arrived at the number," a spokesperson said. "There is no basis of evidence at all."

Dorajay alleges that a number of shareholders in Aristocrat had suffered losses five years ago due to its move into the South American market and that the company had misled them by not giving accurate information about its financial position in 2002/2003.
