Ukraine casino industry "unstable"

(Ukraine).- The head of Latvian casino equipment manufacturer CTC Holdings, Edvins Lobinsh, described the casino situation in Ukraine as “unstable” at last week's Kiev show.

He said: “There are 64 casinos in Kiev, but only about 20 of them have a licence. Some of them paid for a licence and then had it withdrawn. Elections are coming soon, but gaming will not be a priority for whoever gains power.

“Meanwhile, slot halls are booming. There are slot machines on every street corner. The legal situation is chaotic and until next year at the earliest there will be no clear position.”
