Mexican Caliente Group reports betting incomes for us$ 630 million

It was reported by the the Department of Interior, in which there is a detailed figure of the participation to the funds that pay business known as bingos y books, as well as horse racetracks and greyhound racetracks.

The owners of this businesses currently pay to the state between 1 to 2 per cent of the total bets performed. The government is just a control entity and responds to the Tax Administration Service (SAT) to perform the corresponding audit to prove the truthfulness of the data and establish rules to detect possible illegal operations such as money laundering.

The initiative of the tax reform of the government (which is being discussed in the Chamber of Legislators) intends to rise the tax to 20 percent, a proposal that has been refused by the owners of this type of centers.

Until now, 23 companies with licenses of the federal government to operate business related to games and draws (horse racetracks, greyhound racetracks, remote betting centres, etc). Of this group, Hank Rhon, Regional President of Tijuana, is shareholder of seven of them.
