A "serial entrepreneur" who has started five technology companies, Johnson is known for his ability to identify and develop new product and market categories with hyper-growth opportunities.
At Paltronics he will be responsible for creating and leveraging Paltronics’ array of advanced technology and IP for the gaming industry and assessing how it can be applied in other verticals. Johnson holds three US issued patents with more than 15 pending in the field of digital media and gaming.
For the past two years Johnson held the post of chief technology officer for Las Vegas Gaming, (LVGI) where he was the visionary behind the commercialization of his award-winning software platform. PortalVision uses part of a slot machine’s video screen to display sporting events, promotions or TV programs that are selected by a casino operator.
Prior to LVGI Johnson founded and was CEO of AdLine Network, a company specializing in digital media networks. In 1992 he founded and was CEO of Mobile Security Communications, a company in the automotive sector that developed the first GPS security and alarm system for the consumer electronics channel.
After selling Mobile Security Communications in 1998 to a leading provider of automotive fleet services, he then founded and was CEO of i2Go which developed the first interactive digital MP3 music player for the automotive market.
"Paltronics’ One Link infrastructure brings the operator’s slots, media and tables business together. Leveraging this "backbone" allows us to provide a range of products that bring fresh and cost-effective solutions to our customers. I look forward to broadening our gaming offerings and identifying opportunities where our advanced technology and IP portfolio can be applied outside the industry," said Sam Johnson, senior vice president of Business Development, Paltronics.
"Sam will be a great asset to Paltronics. He has a proven talent for seeing the potential of technology and how it can be applied to create new and significant market segments," commented Angelo Palmisano, President and CEO of Paltronics.
