New Termas de Chillán casino to start operating

(Chile).- Chile Casino Superintendence (SCJ) issued a certificate that autorices the beginning of the activities of Termas de Chillán casino. The gambling venue has an operating licence until August 9th, 2022.

Seven months after the beginning of the first tender process in December 2006, the first of the fifteen casinos licensed last week, with a total investment of us$ 481 million and the creation of 8,000 direct jobs.

Casino Termas de Chillán is a project that complements the current touristic complex in Termas de Chillán, Ski & Spa Resort, with an investment of us$ 7.4 million and the creation of 345 permanent direct jobs. Besides the casino, it incorporates a convention center with a VIP hall and a show room, and expands the Spa Termas de Chillán.

The certification was performed after a three-month period in which Casino Termas de Chillán S.A. (J.L.Giner) improved the 111 observations held by SCJ, after the operating society informed last May 11th that it could iniciate the casino operation.

The Casino Superintendent, Francisco Leiva, explained that, in each machine, “the 85 per cent of the total of possible combinations will deliver a prize to the player, which has been certified by the Superintendence, and its compliance will be controlled”.

According to figures released by the operating society, they estimated that the special tax collection to the 20 percent of the gross income of the game indicate that, both Pinto council and Bío Bío region may collect near us$ 271,024 each one during the first year of operations in Casino Termas de Chillán S.A.
