The number represents a significant increase in attendance of 89.5 percent from last year's Asian Gaming Expo, which the G2E brand acquired in 2006. G2E Asia was held June 13-14 at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre.
The event attracted attendees from more than 50 countries including Argentina, Australia, China, Finland, Germany, Japan, Kenya, the Philippines, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom and Venezuela.
“The debut of G2E Asia was a great success,” said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the AGA. “Our strong attendance and exhibitor participation clearly shows we are fulfilling a need in Asia for this type of event and that the industry there has given us their full support.”
“Maintaining the primary foundation of the G2E brand, the inaugural G2E Asia was created by the industry. Moving forward, G2E Asia will continue to provide the most comprehensive and insightful look at the Asian gaming industry available anywhere, and I look forward to working with the Asian gaming community to build on the success of this year's show,” Fahrenkopf added.
The inaugural G2E Asia featured 2,589 sq. m. (27,858 sq. ft.) of sold-out exhibition space showcasing nearly 80 top-notch exhibitors, including some of the world's leading gaming manufacturers.
The event combined the sold-out exhibit hall with in-depth conference sessions featuring panels of industry experts and one-of-a-kind networking opportunities to provide a world-class business and educational forum for the Asian gaming industry.
