The program’s start date has been moved back to accommodate increasing demand, and classes are now slated to begin July 16. Enrollment for the first class is open now. The three-week course is instructed by UNLV Professors, Chuck Berger and Joseph Tien as well as GSA volunteers. Topics covered in the training are as follows:

Week 1: July 16 through July 20 - XML & Web Services Week 2: July 30 through August 3 - Game Play Week 3: August 6 through August 10 - Configuration & Player Management Registration fees are us$ 4,955 per individual, and GSA member companies receive a discount according to their membership level: Platinum Members receive a 30 percent discount, Gold Members receive ten percent and Silver Members five percent.

GSA President Peter DeRaedt said, "The fact is, the future of gaming will be built on a G2S foundation, and trade show after trade show, from London to Macau, every major manufacturer displays products proudly proclaiming to be G2S-ready. Now is the time for operators and manufacturers to prepare their engineers for full G2S implementation."

The certification program grew from an agreement announced last August where GSA granted UNLV nearly us$ 1 million to create two professors-in-residence positions at the university for the purpose of developing and conducting the certification training.

The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) is an international trade association that creates benefits for gaming manufacturers, suppliers, operators and regulators. It facilitates the identification, definition, development, promotion and implementation of open standards to enable innovation, education, and communication for the benefit of the entire industry.

GSA’s new Game-to-System (G2S) Protocol has been named "Best Productivity-Enhancement Technology" by Global Gaming Business Magazine, one of the "Top Three International Gaming Products" by IGWB Magazine; one of Casino Journal magazine’s "Top 3 Most Innovative Products"; and one of Casino Enterprise Management’s "Top 10 Slot Floor Technologies."
