GSA Technical Marc McDermott explained: “Errata updates are not unusual and are to be expected with a new protocol when developers put paper into practice. This update makes an already great product more solid and will provide a firm development platform for developers to work with.”

The upgrade contains numerous corrections and enhancements to the protocol, which are based on feedback GSA received from early implementations. GSA expects that with the update, its G2S committee can now focus on the next G2S revision, which is currently planned for later this year.

The organization's GDS Committee recently released its Connector Standard, which consists of two separate connector specifications: a dual-connector solution, used for all peripherals except for hoppers; and a hopper specific single connector solution that will be used to provide blind mating of USB and power within the same connector.

GSA's membership also approved GSA's Point-to-Point SOAP/HTTPS Transport and Security Specification v1.0. This specification provides a standardized framework for network connectivity across gaming equipment from multiple manufacturers. The network transport and security specification has been crafted to integrate with the GSA's System-to-System (S2S) and Game-to-System (G2S) protocols, providing interoperability at the transport, security, and application levels.
