The number of exhibitors will more than double to 20, and will include gaming machine manufacturers and a range of suppliers to the industry. As organiser of the event, the Australasian Gaming Machine Manufacturers Association indicated that the 2008 event will mark the show's four year anniversary.

“Our 2007 event attracted a 40% increase in visitor numbers, and provided experiences to learn about the most recent developments in the country's gaming industry, business networking opportunities, as well as viewing the latest technology products and services,” said AGMMA's Executive Officer, Ross Ferrar.

“We expect that the NZ Gaming Expo exhibition will no doubt be even more popular next year, and a meeting place for industry peers. “One of the focal points of the conference will be valuable data presentations on the recent roll-out of the gaming machine Electronic Monitoring System,” he explained.

The last of 20,000-odd gaming machines at more than 1600 non-casino licensed gambling venues were connected to the system in early March, which monitors how much money is gambled on each machine, what each machine pays out in prizes to gamblers and how much money should be banked.

New Zealand is home to six casinos, 630 lottery retail outlets, race and sports betting through around 500 Totalisator Agency Board (TAB) outlets and around 20,000 gaming machines in non-casino venues. Further information on the show can be found at www.NZGamingExpo.com
