Gtech named President and COO

Patel will report to Lottomatica S.p.A. and Gtech Chief Executive Officer W. Bruce Turner. Patel has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company since January 2000.

"Over the past seven years, Jaymin has driven our growth strategy through a myriad of transactions culminating in his leadership in putting together the financing for the Lottomatica acquisition. As President and Chief Operating Officer, Patel will be responsible for ensuring the company meets its corporate objectives and revenue-growth goals. Patel will oversee all Gtech operations and will work in the development of strategic growth opportunities and enhancement of technological solutions to strengthen Gtech's competitive position, and drive operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, market penetration, and organizational development.

Patel joined Gtech in July 1994, after approximately five years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London. As the Chief Financial Officer, he managed Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Accounting and Financial Planning, Business Evaluation, Mergers and Acquisitions, Treasury, Corporate Tax, Internal Audit, Global Real Estate, and Manufacturing. Over the last several years, Patel led Gtech's overall planning and business measurement processes including responsibility for the strategic and annual operating plans.

On the other hand, Stefano Bortoli has been named as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Lottomatica S.p.A., reporting to Turner. Since September 2006, Bortoli has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Lottomatica's Italian operations.

"Stefano is a seasoned executive who provides valuable international experience to Lottomatica," said Turner. "He has been instrumental in the integration of Gtech and Lottomatica, and I have every confidence that he will continue to drive our commitment to creating long-term shareholder value."

In his new role, Bortoli will be responsible for managing the financial strategy for Lottomatica and its operating businesses.
