Sheraton joins Lating Gaming in Calama and Osorno projects in Chile

The hotel chain currently has presence just in Santiago and Viña del Mar, but Calama and Osorno will be soon added to the business, because Latin Gaming will operate their casinos. The agreement will allow the delivery of an international platform to such cities.

Alan Céspedes, general manager of Latin Gaming, declared: “It will distinguish us from any other project of this kind in the region”. Four Points from Sheraton is a brand associated to Starwood Hotels chain, with more than 850 hotels in different countries. In Osorno it will operate through GHL.

Last Monday, the Casino Superintendence approved the proposal of the increment of the hotel capacity in Plaza Sol de Los Lagos project, as well as other refurbishments that had to do with the increment of 17.7% in the initial investment. This way, the hotel, located in the installations of the Osorno project, plans 106 rooms with a high-level service, which will be part of an international marketing project.

Besides, Ricardo Bayelle, another investor partner of the project, said that Osorno has a lack of hotel offers, so customers travel to other cities, a fact that has a negative impact in several productive areas.

The beginning of the casino construction will begin in the middle of June, after the developments are granted to one of the seven companies that applied for the project. Céspedes and Bayelle ratified that the project is complying with all the deadlines.
