Riverwalk casino construction begins
(US).- Developers of The Riverwalk Casino and Hotel in Vicksburg that is planned for a 8.90-hectare site north of Rainbow Hotel Casino told the Mississippi Gaming Commission Friday that construction should begin next week.

"The us$ 100-million project will include a high-rise building with a casino with 800 slot machines and 20 table games and a hotel with 80 rooms and a meeting facility, said John A. Barrett Jr. of Shawnee, a principal in the project. The parking lot will adjoin that of Rainbow Hotel Casino, and a promenade will provide a view of the Mississippi River, he said.
"The casino and hotel are expected to be open by July 2008”, he said. The commission gave the developers the authority to proceed with development and also extended site approval for the project.
