What products did you choose to present to the Colombian market and how is resulting this new local incursion of IGT?
We brought Trimline machine to Bogota, which is the latest cabinet that IGT has developed on the 960 platform, and besides we present two versions: one in regular glass and another in digital glass, too.
In Colombia we managed to see that the market was expecting us, I mean, there has been a great feedback from operators. We have achieved very good sales in the first six months of operations, selling more than 350 machines, and in the event we have seen the consolidation of the work performed at the beginning of the year.
The market of slots manufacturing in the region presented many similar machines to IGT developments, an issue in which you have been working hard. How did the operator react with the arrival of IGT and its machines?
Well, the market realized which the original product due to its quality was. The quality of IGT products is remarkable and the most important thing is to use the latest technology, with the manufacturer support, which is an advantage for the operator. We have shown that we have the best product, and we count with a support for the premium Colombian market.
Talking about the Andean market, Which are the most interesting markets for you and where do you expect to target the strategy from now on?
We believe in the Colombian market, particularly I think this is the market with the most growth potential after Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. We would also like to target Venezuela, which is also a very interesting market for us, but unfortunately, the political situation in the country does not let us go there now. We will do it as soon as we can.
We also expect Peru to become stable. We are optimistic in that sense. If things are controlled and ordered, and if the government is strong enough to apply regulations, perspectives are very optimistic towards the Peruvian market. A stage of changes in regulation, control and formalization is coming, so that is the next market we want to target. But first we want to see the signals from the Peruvian government to see if there will be real changes in the current situation.
Which are the following steps of the company for the rest of the year, beyond the Colombian market, in which it still has little experience...
We want to present new products. In fact, we have seen than most of the manufacturers offer multilevel progressives nowadays. It has not been performed by IGT, but in fact it does not do it because it hasn't anything good to offer, because we work on a daily fee basis, so this product is still very expensive for this type of markets.
We have managed to develop a product that adapts to this market, and at this moment we are in negotiations with IGT to try to present it and offer it to the operators that are expecting the multi-level progressive.
Will you be present in any other regional event?
We are evaluating possibilities, but in fact we have nothing arranged at this moment. We believe that the important Latin American events are Buenos Aires and Colombia, the rest is still in the evaluation process.
