Kerzner International appoints new president

An accomplished hotel executive, Cotter was most recently President and Chief Operating Officer of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. He will be based in the Company's Plantation, Florida offices and will report directly to Kerzner.

In his new role, Cotter will be responsible for overall operations and marketing of the company, and will be actively involved as a member of the executive management team in the strategic growth and development of Kerzner Worldwide. The functional areas of marketing, human resources, public affairs and entertainment, information technology and global communications/public relations will report directly to him.

Cotter served as Chief Operating Officer of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, from 2000-2003, when he was given the additional title of President, which he held until 2005. In both roles, he was responsible for overall company operations, and was involved in shaping Starwood's strategic direction.

Prior to that, he served as President, International Operations, a post he was named to in December 1999, after serving as President and Chief Operating Officer, Europe, a position he held since 1994.

Previously, he served as Vice President and President of the company's Asia-Pacific division, based in Hong Kong and before than, his 20 year sales and marketing experience culminated in his role as Executive Vice President, Director or Marketing and Product Management for The Sheraton Corporation.
